The factory BMW S55 turbo’s are Mitsubishi TFO35 turbos. If you have TDO4 upgraded turbos such then you will need our BMW S55 TDO4 upgraded rebuild kit. The difference we between the two rebuild kits is simply the journal bearing size. Both versions of the BMW S55 turbo rebuild kit that we sell have upgraded thrust bearing, collar, and spacer to make the turbos reliable at high boost. The thrust bearings we use have 2 oil ports for increased lubrication and cooling. The collar and spacer we use at 14mm in diameter compared to the to stock size of 10mm in diameter. This thrust bearing, collar, and spacer upgrade make the turbo able to run over 30 psi without failure. tge factory thrust bearing commonly fails at 22 psi, which is even more common if the turbo has upgraded heavier wheels.
