HX35 HX40 Hybrid Turbo

The Holset HX35 HX40 hybrid is created when an HX35 turbo has an HX40 compressor housing and wheel swapped on to it. To do this upgrade the bearing housing has to be machined 1.2mm larger than the HX40 compressor wheel, and you need the HX40 compressor housing and matching wheel. The HX35 compressor housing can also be machined for the HX40 compressor wheel that you are using.
The compressor housing must be machined 0.9mm larger than the compressor wheel, and the radius much be machined to match the next wheel. The raduis depth is 0.020” deeper than the wheel location. Rather than machining your own housing we have machined parts available that you can save time, money, frustration in comparison to machining your own parts.
We have 62mm 64mm and 67mm HX40 upgrade parts and complete turbos that you can find here.
Below are the parts needed to upgrade a 1996 - 1998 dodge ram hx35 to an hx35 hx40 hybrid. If you want to upgrade a 1999 - 2002 dodge ram hx35 then you have to weld on wastegate mounts to the compressor housing or machine the stock compressor housing.
